I don’t wish to be an awkward guest, but I would like to ask for your help in achieving a more healthy lifestyle. Right now (August 2019) I am significantly overweight, to the point of being clinically obese, and I’ve decided to do something about it. Unfortunately, there’s no magical way to eat heartily and lose weight at the same time, so at the very least, please don’t overfeed me! But more significantly, I’ve decided to experiment with the low-carb keto diet as a way of reducing my weight to a more reasonable level. The keto diet depends on not giving the body significant amount of carbs, so that means no potato, root vegetables, pasta, rice, bread or flour/grains. In most cases that means I will eat meat and selective vegetables but ask you to withhold the carbs from any “normal meal” you offer me. If you’re willing to cook specially then here’s what I will eat gladly:
- Any white or red meat, but not offal (so no liver or kidneys)
- Any white or pink fish, preferably without bones, but not shellfish
- Cheese (hard)
- Eggs (scrambled or omlette)
- Onions (cooked)
- Red peppers
There’s no desserts on the list, but don’t worry – I’m simply not eating desserts!
Many thanks for your understanding and helping me towards a healthier body!
